For Apple users: https://apps.apple.com/app/hik-connect/id878365074
For Android users: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hikvision.converg
What is HikConnect?
HikConnect is a **100% free app** available for smartphones and tablets. This application allows you to **view and control your Hikvision surveillance cameras remotely**. It also supports other Hikvision products such as video door intercoms or the AXPRO wireless alarm system.
Thanks to its P2P technology and **TLS full-link encryption**, **HikConnect is fully secured**. You are thus the only person who can remotely access your Hikvision equipment (camera or NVR) via your smartphone or tablet.
The HikConnect app lets you view up to **16 cameras live** simultaneously.
When you are away, you can configure **real-time alerts** such as:
- Notification when someone rings your doorbell,
- Alarm triggers,
- Motion detection on any camera.
You can directly interact with visitors, for example to:
- Open a door remotely or answer a video intercom call,
- Trigger your alarm siren if required.
No need to port-forward your router or configure box settings.
Configuration Prerequisites for HikConnect Remote Access
Before starting, gather these essential elements for your **HikConnect configuration**:
- The **local (LAN) IP address** of your camera or NVR
- If unknown, use the **SADP tool** to detect your Hikvision devices on your network
- The **username and password** you set during camera or NVR setup
Make sure you have access to your **camera IP interface** or **NVR web interface** using those login credentials.
Step 1: Connect to Your Camera or NVR Locally
1. Enter the local IP address in a web browser (e.g. http://192.168.x.x
)
2. Go to “Configuration” → “Network”
Step 2: Network Setup for Camera or NVR
Under “Network” and “Basic Settings”, ensure:
- Your **gateway (router address)** matches your box’s gateway (e.g. 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1)
- The “Primary DNS server” field is correctly filled (ideally the same as the gateway)
Step 3: How to Activate HikConnect on the Device
- In the camera/NVR interface, go to Configuration → Network → Advanced → Platform Access
- Tick the “Enable” checkbox
- Create your **verification code** (6 to 12 alphanumeric characters)
At first launch of the HikConnect app, you will be asked for this verification code. Enter it and confirm with OK.
Step 4: Finalizing the Remote Access Setup
- Enter the verification code you created
- Refresh the web interface (F5 or refresh button)
- If status shows **“Online”**, setup succeeded
- If status shows **“Disconnected”**, check your network settings
- Registry status should be “Online”
Your **network configuration should now be complete**. You can proceed to **link your device to the HikConnect app** for remote viewing.
There are two options to create your **HikConnect account**:
- Via the HikConnect mobile app (Android / iOS) — recommended method
- Via the HikConnect web portal on desktop
